Your Story Matters
Our stories impact us in ways that we are often unaware. Whether it shows up in how we view ourselves, how we respond and react in relationships, or the ways we behave in our communities our past experiences are a driving force. From our families of origin to our experiences of trauma, we learn and adapt ways to keep ourselves safe. When we are unable to process our experiences and stories, we often find that what we have adapted for our safety becomes the source of our conflict and discomfort. When we have the courage to re-enter and re-learn our stories, we grow in our compassion and understanding of ourselves in a way that leads to healing and freedom.
I use Story Informed Trauma Therapy (SITT) and EMDR to help you understand and heal the impact areas of your environment and experiences. I have additional training in sand tray therapy, counseling adolescents, trauma-focused cognitive behavior therapy (TF-CBT), Gottman method for couples, and attachment that are utilized alongside SITT.
